When at Island Lake....

....try and fit in. Mitch's work in progress mountain beard. They say in Canada, as long as you have 50% of your face covered with hair, you don't even need a passport

Mitch Allan at Island lake lodge

Mitch just checked in from the road and has turned up in Island Lake Lodge. After some epic snow at Sanora pass shooting with Tim Jackways and photog Johnny McCormack he made the trek up north to a place I might visit one day if somehow Paris Hilton runs a bottle bro and that shit heats UP! But for now I'll live through Mitch

"I'm at island lake lodge now after a 12 hour drive and it was worth every little bit, the lodge is 10 out 5 stars pimp rooms hot tubs on the deck the best food I've ever eaten. Sick terrain, we mainly rode the trees today but will be in the alpine tomorrow. On our last runs of the day we painfully watched Jonaven Moore drop some sick lines we were looking at doing....shitloads more to get after though"

Utah

Utah

So just finishing a  super fun adventure to utah with Charles Beckinsale and Cohen davies to hang out with dragon team manger Alex Pashley.  Pashley took us out back to this super fun area to hit this tree slide to long steep landing that looked like it should have been  at the end of a jump. We met up with littles (Alex Sherman)  and Pouch. Wasnt the best snow but we made the most of it hitting some other fun stuff as well. The next day we went to park city  and we forgot the camera being a little excited about riding pc.  Then hit up the natural hot springs
at a place called the pit was one of the funniest parts of the trip. After hit up mexican for the third night in a row with Scotty Arnold.  Was a super fun trip thanks to alex and the boys for showing us a fun time.

Mitch and Nick off the Map at Nazow Onsen

Just heard back from two lonesome adventures out on the campaign pow trail in Japan with Snowboarder mag. Now I don't know where "Nazow Onsen" is but a quick google search returned only 1 result and it was all in japanese. No maps no images. What sort of a place has only 1 google search result and how the hell do you find it? If anyone knows- let me know. here's what Mitch had to say:

"We have basically been hanging in Kiroro with Quentin (Robins) and it was epic mad snow and then we ferry to the south island for 20 hours on the high seas with gregdog getting a little green with sea sickness....and we are at nazow onsen and the terrain is pretty dam sick and we are just waiting for snow, hope all is good, loving the hero in pow fucking sick"

now if you search Google - this will be Nazow Onsen's second google entry (provided we spelt it right)

Hakuba Powder Lodge

If you are looking at coming to Hakuba I recommend on staying at the Hakuba Powder Lodge. Very reasonably priced and central to all the resorts and close to town. The owner is a Canadian bloke who has been living in Japan for about 10 years and has a vast knowledge of the area so he can point you in the right direction for the conditions. Great staff and fun atmosphere.
Really living!

Hot Sauce - Cholula Triple Air Show

A hot saucy heads up on Jye getting 4th at the Cholula jam last over the weekend in California. They tell me Jye's run was hotter than the sponsors finest hot sauce which you might recognise from you favorite mexican restaurant. Here here Cholula. For a full rundown on the contest head over her to snowboard Rev http://crosland.snowboard-revolution.com/snow-skate/cholula-triple-air-show/
Both Jye and Mitch went to the contest over the weekend and here is a shot of Mitch mid 720

Cortina Jpn

After a light dusting of snow overnight we hit to a little resort about 20 mins from Happo called Cortina(not to be confused with the Italian Cortina). Chriso blew it and stayed at America town while Rich and myself scored some amazing powder and remembered the reason we all love this sport. Riding out of bounds at Cortina is strictly prohibited and heavily patroled. They will take your pass for even looking past the boundary rope.

First day shredding @ Happo One Hakuba

A tough season for Hakuba this year with less than half the average snow base however we went out to scope the area today. As you can see there is some amazing terrain that is almost Alaska like.
Snowing as I type! YES.. Fingers crossed
