NZ Club Field Tour

Over at Transfersnowboard.com they have a feature about the tour of the NZ club fields that took place in August just a couple of weeks ago. Nick Gregory, Mitch Allan and Jye Kearney were part of of the tour with Vaughan Brookfield capturing the shots.

Down Day In Manly

Mikkel Bang, Mark Sollors, Marko Grilc and Charles Reid landed in Sydney over the weekend. After a night out on the town the boys joined up with Nick " Pistol " Gregory, Chris Boadle and Russell Holt for a down day in Manly which consisted of a late breakfast, surf checking, jump rock and finally a couple of quiet beers at the Wharf Bar. The crew are heading to Falls Creek today for Stylewars and then to the Boost SnoSho at Perisher on Friday.

Boost SNOSHO Time Again

Look out people it is on again. The Boost SNOSHO kicks off on Friday the 28th of August with the qualifiers and then the main show on Saturday night the 29th.

With dollars to be won and world records to be claimed the rider list is always impressive. This year the international crew will include Marko Grillic, Charles Reid, Mark Sollors, and Mikkel Bang. While the locals of Mitch Allan, Jye Kearney and Tom Pelley will be fronting up to see who can beat Charles Reid's world record and win some money.

Dan's Photo Blog

Over on photographer Dan Himbrechts's blog there are some images and a story about a recent shoot he did at Thredbo featuring the skill of the terrain park staff. Tom Pelley and Jye Kearney took part in shoot and will hopefully have a couple of shots in the story which is out in the third issue of Australian & New Zealand Snowboarding.

Burton OZ Team Ride the NZ Stash

Before all the fun and games that was the NZ Open the guys went and rode the Burton Stash which is located at the Remarkables resort. The NZ Stash was the third Stash to be constructed and features a number of stone, concrete and wooden obstacle to jib until you can't jib no more.

The team house in NZ had two very important items that made NZ easy living. These items included a super comfy couch for after riding relaxation and the best cook in snowboarding. Chris McAlpine the editor of Australian & NZ Snowboarding made sure no one went hungry.

NZO Halfpipe Day

The NZ Open halfpipe finals will go down in the history books as a bit of a turning point for new tricks in a competition. To give you an idea of what went on here is the top 3 guys runs.

3rd Kazuhiro Kokubo - Huge McTwist, a frontside 900 tailgrab, an alleyoop chuck nose grab, and a frontside 1080 indy.

2nd Luke Mitrani - Double inverted 900 melon, a frontside 720 indy, a Cab 720 mute and a frontside 900 tailgrab.

1st Shaun White - Frontside lien air, to backside 900 melon, followed by a frontside 1080 stalefish, into a Cab double cork 1080 stalefish, to frontside double cork 900.

Luke Mitrani also took best trick with a Double Michalchuk.
