Sending Kevin Positive Vibes

The Burton family is starting off the New Year with some unfortunate news. On New Year's Eve Kevin Pearce was seriously injured while riding at Park City, Utah. He was landing a cab double cork, caught his toe side edge and was knocked unconscious.

He is currently at the University of Utah Hospital in the intensive care unit, and remains in a stable but critical condition as he sustained a severe traumatic brain injury during his fall. Kevin is getting the best care possible, and we know he has it in him to get through this. Kevin has a long recovery ahead of him and his family has created a Facebook page where you can follow his progress here.

Everyone at Burton Australia is sending Kevin positive thoughts, and cannot wait to have him come visit again.

Mikkel Bang Best Trick At Stylewars

Grandmaster 2009 - www.stylewars.com.au from richard hegarty on Vimeo.

Stylewars managed to catch a break in the weather for the last day, after being locked down for most of the event. Burton Australia good buddy and frequent visitor Mikkel Bang took out the best trick with a switch back 12. There is a little bit of a back story to this as Mikkel is recovering from a broken foot that he suffered earlier in the year at a Mountain Dew event in the USA. He came over to Australia from New Zealand where he is getting some extra on snow time to help with his rehab, he wasn't even planning on competing and at 4am on the last day of the event he was still up having a good time. Check the Stylewars video above for Mikkel's run as well as the other international visitors Charles Reid and Marko Grilc.

If Mikkel is still in rehab mode we wonder what he has up his sleeve when he is 100%.

Stylewars Update

The weather gods have not been to kind to Stylewars this year with the first 2 days canceled because of conditions. Charles Reid did managed to tie for first in the rail comp last night and Mark Sollors scored best trick so at least the boys have some dollars to pay off the bar tab they have been racking up.

Over at transfersnowboard.com they have a blog post which gives you an idea of what Nick Gregory, Jye Kearney, Chris Decampo, Charles Reid, Tom Pelley, Marko Grilc, Mikkel Bang and Mark Sollors have been up to.

Hit up the post and images here.

Down Day In Manly

Mikkel Bang, Mark Sollors, Marko Grilc and Charles Reid landed in Sydney over the weekend. After a night out on the town the boys joined up with Nick " Pistol " Gregory, Chris Boadle and Russell Holt for a down day in Manly which consisted of a late breakfast, surf checking, jump rock and finally a couple of quiet beers at the Wharf Bar. The crew are heading to Falls Creek today for Stylewars and then to the Boost SnoSho at Perisher on Friday.
