The Cattleman's rail is the main access way to the lifts at Mt Buller therefore it is a huge effort by the resort and park staff to shut it down and start the build for the event. The stairs are shut from midday with an event kick off at 6pm

Everyones favorite Burton rep Shirvo did not have the best morning. While riding with Nick Gregory and Mitch Allan (who sent us these exclusive iphone pics) Shirvo fell on a rock just under the snow and snapped his femur. To make matters worse the ski patrol thought it was just a dislocated hip and tried to yank it back into place.
We all wish Shirvo a fast recovery so that he is back riding in no time.

MTV Snow Jam 2009 is on and at Falls Creek Thursday the 30th of July, the event is happening at the base of Wombats Ramble in the new Mirvac hotel. Apart from music from Cut Copy DJs and Phrase, MTV are also removing the existing rails from the busy staircase and replacing them with custom built features so that the event is happening in a true urban environment.
Tickets are free and MTV expect 4000 people for what is going to be a huge party. With $10,000 up for grabs and a solid rider list including internationals Charles Reid (Stylewars 08 Grand Master) and Mark Sollars (Did you see the last Sandbox film?) joining the usual suspects of Tom Pelley, Jye Kearney, Robbie Walker and the rest of Australia's top level riders. The snowboard side of things goes from 5:30pm – 6:30 pm and runs into the music event. Should be a ridiculous night with good riding and the biggest party Falls Creek has ever seen.
We have 2 tickets to the MTV VIP party to giveaway. Entrants must be over 18 and able to get to the event. The winner will be drawn Monday the 27th of July at Midday and will be notified straight away so that they can plan their adventure.
To go into the draw all you have to do is email seemymethod@burton.com.au and tell us 2 Burton riders who will be competing in the MTV Snow Jam. Make sure you include a day time contact phone number. The tickets don't include accommodation or transport so check out the MTV website here for all that information.
